The ANZCP has purchased an Orpheus HiFi perfusion simulator.
The ANZCP simulation subcommittee and the ABCP are currently developing programmes and courses for the simulator.
The simulator will be based in Melbourne, however the simulator is portable and easily transportable. It is the intention of the ANZCP that the simulator travel all around Australia and New Zealand. In the first instance the transportation costs will be bourne by the ANZCP.
In the future there will be a standard cost for all members wishing to hire or use the simulator – this is so that no unit is disadvantaged by its geographical position. Costs of hiring the simulator are yet to be finalised by the ANZCP.
The simulator may be hired by the corporate sector subject to the approval of the ANZCP executive – prices are yet to be finalised.
Expressions of interest to hire the simulator should be directed to the ANZCP secretary.
A ‘train-the-trainer’ course and simulation day takes place the day before every Annual Scientific Meeting. All College members are invited to take part in this event so that they can experience perfusion simulation and also learn how to run a simulation session in their institution using Orpheus.
