Camilla Hand - Victoria

Registrar

Camilla qualified as a clinical perfusionist in 2018 after training at Auckland City hospital in New Zealand. In 2017 she won the ‘Sid Yarrow Award’ for best student research project at the ANZCP ASM for her research on the ‘Effect of venous reservoir levels on emboli generation’. Prior to perfusion, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Physiology at the University of Auckland.

With Auckland City Hospital being the national transplant/ ECMO centre for both adult and paediatric patients, Camilla’s early years in perfusion have been fairly diverse. After finalising her training in paediatric perfusion, Camilla relocated to Univerisity Hospital Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

Camilla is motivated and constantly strives for self-improvement and growth. This is demonstrated by the roles she has volunteered for and been voted into by her colleagues in the perfusion department.

As one of the most recent additions to the ANZCP Executive committee, Camilla brings a fresh perspective to the team. She is excited to work with like minded individuals who share a common goal of producing positive outcomes for the perfusion community on a wider scale.
