Ruhan Herbst

Ruhan Herbst is an experienced and dedicated Clinical Perfusionist with a Bachelors in Perfusion with specialised training in both Adult and Paediatric Perfusion. He embarked on his perfusion career in 2018 with Perfusion Training completed in South Africa at Groote Schuur Hospital, where he completed his rigorous training and obtained certification in 2020.

Ruhan has experience working across many cardiac centres. Ruhan is particularly passionate about cardiopulmonary bypass and is committed to advancing patient outcomes from behind the Heart Lung Machine. His dedication to improving cardiovascular care is reflected in his unwavering commitment, meticulous approach, and his continuous efforts to stay at the forefront of perfusion technology and techniques and to help further train new up and coming Perfusionists.

Ruhan is currently working at the Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) which he started at in 2023. Perth Children’s Hospital is the only Paediatric unit that does cardiac surgery in the whole of WA.

Ruhan is excited to be fulfilling the role of Treasurer with the ANZCP.
