Neesha Ghedia - New South Wales

Course Coordinator

Neesha brings a unique perspective and unwavering dedication to the field of perfusion. Her journey began as a cardiac physiologist, where a transformative encounter with an ECMO retrieval during a STEMI in the cath lab sparked a lasting fascination with perfusion. That pivotal moment ignited a passion that led her to pursue a career as a perfusionist, culminating in her current clinical role at Prince of Wales Hospital.

Beyond the clinical setting, Neesha is deeply committed to shaping the future of perfusion education. As a Senior Lecturer of the Master of Cardiovascular Perfusion and a Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) candidate at Monash University, she is focused on developing evidence-informed learning experiences that support trainee growth and professional standards.

In her role as Course Coordinator for the Australian and New Zealand Board of Perfusion (ANZBP), she coordinates Certification examinations, helping ensure emerging perfusionists are equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel. She also manages the ANZBP LinkedIn presence, fostering connection, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across the community.

Outside of the OR, Neesha enjoys uncovering Sydney’s hidden culinary gems and vibrant restaurant scene, fuelled by a keen appreciation of food and an unhealthy obsession with coffee. When not on a gastronomic adventure, her wanderlust takes her exploring diverse cultures, with her next vacation always on the horizon.

Neesha is passionate about advancing perfusion education and professional recognition, and is always keen to connect with colleagues, share ideas, and contribute to the continued growth of the specialty.
