Annette Mazzone

Annette Mazzone is the President of the Australian and New Zealand College of Perfusionists (ANZCP) and Director of Perfusion at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide. She has more than 20 years’ experience in clinical perfusion and is recognised for her leadership in cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, organ procurement, and statewide service delivery.

As President, Annette is focused on strengthening College governance, advancing professional standards, and supporting a sustainable perfusion workforce across Australia and New Zealand. She is a strong advocate for clearly defined scope of practice, high-quality education, and nationally consistent training and competency frameworks.

Annette is a Senior Lecturer in the Master of Cardiovascular Perfusion program at Monash University, contributing to curriculum development and clinical education. She holds a PhD in translational research focused on microRNA and cardiopulmonary bypass–related acute kidney injury and is committed to strengthening research capability, collaboration, and engagement within the College.
