PERFUSION WEEK 4-10 MAY 2026
Recognising the heart of patient care and the skilled professionals behind the pump.
Perfusion Week (4–10 May) is our chance to celebrate perfusionists across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, raise awareness of what we do, and shine a light on a profession that is often essential… and invisible.
Perfusionists support life-saving cardiac surgery and mechanical circulatory support by managing cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO and complex physiology in real time. We’re the people quietly keeping everything stable while the rest of the team focuses on the operation.
This week, let’s make perfusion visible — for our teams, our hospitals, and our community. Professional advocacy and visibility makes it easier to have conversations about funding, requests for training, and even CPD for conferences if the people who make decisions understand the importance of what we do.
Photography Competition - Winners announced soon!
Thank you for submitting your photos that capture the spirit of our profession — collaboration, technology, education, preparation, and pride in the work we do.
Winners will be selected from entries from Australia and New Zealand only, and awarded a prize from the College. Selected images will be featured in the Gazette and the ANZCP / ANZBP communication channels.
